Richard W. Coppernoll

Richard W. Coppernoll, age 89, rural Logansport, passed away at 2:08 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2020, in his residence.

Born January 15, 1931, in Temperance, Michigan, he was the son of Wesley and Ruth Sorter Coppernoll.

On August 8, 1955, in Logansport, he was married to Shirley A. Quillen, who survives.

Richard attended Logansport High School. He then enlisted and served his country in the United States Navy.

Following his service in the Navy, he was employed at B. F. Goodrich before owning and operating Coppernoll’s Appliance Center in Peru.

Richard was a self-employed farmer for many years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. Especially he cherished his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, David E. (Debbie) Coppernoll, Bruce A. (Christy) Coppernoll, all of Logansport, and John A. (Susanna) Coppernoll, Bryan, Texas; daughter, Karen K. Clark (Dee Gregory), Albany, Indiana; sister, Frances (Jim) Roy, Logansport.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Kristie Kay, Samantha (Nate) Lucas, Tiffany Ann Clark, Cameron Levi Clark, Aubrey D. Cummings, Aaron W. Coppernoll, Joel Thomas Coppernoll and James Christian Coppernoll; great-grandchildren, Hank Leon Lucas and Bo Lincoln Lucas.

A sister, Marybelle Truax and brothers, William Leroy Coppernoll and Dale Wesley Coppernoll preceded him in death.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family service is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2020. 

Interment with full military honors will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Humane Society, 700 Water Street, Logansport, 46947. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
