Doris M. Shidler

Doris Marie Shidler, 92, of Star City passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Pulaski Healthcare Center in Winamac.

Born on February 13, 1928 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Earl Milton Banta and Bertha Marie (Hufford) Elder. 

On April 30, 1960 she married Grover Shidler.  He preceded her in death on May 1, 2015.

She worked at General Tire and Rubber Co as a press operator and retired from Federal Mogul. She formerly worked at Knebel Grocery in Star City in the 1970’s.

She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Doris enjoyed going to the Blue Chip casino with her husband and in their younger years, enjoyed dancing the night away at the VFW.

Doris lived at McKinney Place in Logansport from 2015-2019 spending 2 winters in Florida with her daughter, Diana.

Survivors include her children, Richard Schoenradt (Annette) of Waco, Texas, David Schoenradt (Debbie) of Greentown, Diana Tocco (Willie Ho) of Holiday, Florida, Jackie Baker (John) of Winamac and Veronica Applegate (Richard) of Warsaw, Sisters, Bonnie Kite, Logansport and Becky Lambert of North Manchester, Sisters in law, Janice Banta of Logansport, Mary Ruth Lewis of Texas and Debbie Shidler of Winamac and niece, Gloria Gleitz, Logansport. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by son, Stephen Schoenradt, brother, Dick Banta, sister, Earladean Gordon, nephew, Nick Gordon and granddaughter, Traci Roe.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2020 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center with Pastor Tom Woodley officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.

Burial will be at Buck Cemetery in Thornhope.
