Eugene Ralph

Eugene Ralph, 93, of Star City passed away at 8:55 p.m., Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Millers Merry Manor in Culver.

Born on January 4, 1927 in Haven, Kansas, he was the son of the late Stewart and Mattie (Scott) Ralph.

Gene was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Winamac V.F.W.

On March 26, 1974 he married Berla Carlisle.  She preceded him in death on January 24, 2011.

He retired from US Gypson Drywall Company in East Chicago.  Gene also formerly owned and operated Ralph’s Restaurant in Whiting and Ralph’s Market in Star City.  He also drove a school bus for 27 years for Eastern Pulaski Schools.  He also worked part-time for Braun Corporation.

Gene was an avid bowler in his younger years and he also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Bonnie Drabek of Star City, brother, Don Ralph (Adda Mae) of Texas, sister, Donna Carey of Pennsylvania, grandchildren, Jeff Forrest and Mike Forrest, step children, David McLeroy (Barb) of Ohio, Joseph “JD” McLeroy (Connie) of Hanna, Robert Dooley (Pam) of Pulaski, Jackie Dimos (Rory) of Hobart and Laura Dooley (Jim) of Star City, several Great grandchildren and 3 Great-Great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by daughter, Jackie Moore.

Graveside Services with military rites will be performed at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Star City West Cemetery.
