Jane I. Smith, age 77, Logansport, passed away at 12:27 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020, at Miller’s Merry Manor.
Born Saturday, March 27, 1943, in Logansport, she was the daughter of of Leonard and Patricia Besse Koons.
On September 19, 1976, she was married to Charles Edwin “Ed” Smith, who preceded her in death on September 8, 2017.
A 1961 graduate of Logansport High School, Jane was also a graduate of the Kokomo School of Practical Nursing. She had been employed at Miller’s Merry Manor, Memorial Hospital, and in the offices of Dr. Dodt and Dr. O’Brien.
Jane enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and calligraphy.
Surviving are a son, Kye Benn; siblings, Judy (Doug) Bowyer, Columbia City, Robert Koons, Royal Center, Margaret Ann “Mardi” (Jeff) Koske, Logansport, Betty Lane, Logansport, Rebecca “Becky” (John) Tidrick, Logansport; step-daughters, Vicky Hathaway, and Pam Welton, all of Logansport; step grandchildren, step great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Kroeger Funeral Home.
The funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Scott officiating.
Interment will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
