Carl J. Gibbs, age 73, Logansport, passed away at 3:58 a.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2020.
Born July 8, 1947, in Logansport, he was the son of Harry and Mame Annette Rush Gibbs.
On March 5, 1968, he was married to Linda Nitzschke, who survives.
Carl was a retired chemist for National Chemical Starch Corporation in Indianapolis. Prior to that, he had been employed at Wilson Foods.
A 1966 graduate of Logansport High School, Carl was a hobby race car driver. He enjoyed camping, outdoor activities and was an overall handyman.
Carl was in the United States Army and served in Vietnam.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, David Michael (Tonya) Gibbs, Greenwood; brothers, Harry Gibbs Jr. (Joyce), Logansport, David J. Gibbs, South Bend; sisters, Joyce Atkinson, Noblesville, Janice Brugnoli (companion Bill), Allentown, PA; grandchildren, Lucy Gibbs, Paige Gibbs, Mallory Gibbs; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Kroeger Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, also at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Zion Cemetery, Lucerne.
