Don Leslie Binney

Don Leslie Binney, 78, Eaton, formerly of Greensburg and Logansport, passed away peacefully Saturday morning in his daughter’s home.

Born February 1, 1942, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Charles Alfred and Doris Lucille ((Kline) Binney.

Following his 1960 graduation from Walton High School, Don enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. While stationed at the Lakeland AFB in Texas, he played first bugle in the Drum and Bugle Corps and was also a member of the Chapel Choir.

Don retired from Shirk International Truck Sales in Greensburg where he had worked in sales for 14 years.

Don was a member of the United Methodist Church. While living in Logansport and then Greensburg, Don enjoyed being a part of the Lions Club and their mission in giving hope to those with blindness. When his children were young, he served as a Little League coach. His love of baseball continued and he served as an umpire for the Pixie League. He was a proud Berry Band Booster.

Surviving are his life partner, Marilyn Shrader, Greensburg; his children: Gretchen (Harriet) Binney, of Eaton, Don “Michael” Binney, of Chicago, Suzanne Kesling, of Avon, and Carl Binney of Logansport; his beloved grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica and Samantha Binney, Morgan and Nathan Kesling, Samantha, Barton and Avery Barnes, and Carrie Worthington,

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mark Kesling.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a Graveside Service, with military honors, will be held in the Spring of 2021 at the Galveston I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you honor Don’s memory with a contribution to your local Lions Club, high school FFA or county 4-H program.
