James “Jim” A. Shorter

James “Jim” A. Shorter, 81, of Winamac passed away at 1:35 am, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital.

Born on January 26, 1939, he was the son of the late George and Alvina (Shedrow) Shorter of Winamac.

He married Betty J. Ezra on November 5, 1960. She survives.

Jim retired from Plymouth Tube in 1999 as a foreman after thirty-eight years of working there.

He attended First Christian Church in Winamac.  Jim enjoyed bass fishing and spending time with family and friends. His grandkids meant the world to him. He often enjoyed meeting up with his McDonald’s friends.  Jim was an avid Notre Dame fan.

He is survived his wife, Betty Shorter of Winamac; daughter: Amy Bailey (David) of Star City; sons: Gregory Shorter (Tracey) of Winamac and Steven Shorter (Chris) of Winamac; and brother: Gerald Shorter (Pat) of Winamac.  He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brother, Robert  Shorter; grandson, Michael Shorter and granddaughter, Christi Hoffa.

Private family services were held.
