Dolores Ann “Dee” Risher

Dolores Ann “Dee” (Crowe) Risher, 90, of Logansport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

Dolores Ann was born October 10, 1930 in the front room of her parents’ Davis Road home in Logansport.  She is the daughter of Agnes (Plummer) and John Manice Crowe.

She attended both Noble Township and St. Vincent de Paul elementary schools and graduated Logansport High School in 1948.

Dolores met Barth Risher, her husband of 67 years, while on a trip visiting family in California. They married in 1953, living between Ohio and Indiana while Barth was stationed in the Navy, permanently settling in Logansport after his retirement from the military.

Dolores loved being a mother and homemaker. Second only to her love of family, was Dee’s love of her flower gardens. She always made sure to keep fresh cut arrangements in the house from spring until fall.

She enjoyed her time spent volunteering as a docent at the Cass County Historical Society and socializing with friends at the Senior Center. Dee enjoyed cooking and entertaining, whether it was for the whole extended family at Thanksgiving, or for a few friends visiting from out of town. Dee always had a cake or pie ready to serve up to anyone who stopped by the house for a visit.

Dee was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She devoted her life to raising her family, loving them unconditionally and without limit. She lived by example and instilled in each one of her children key principles to becoming successful adults – appreciation for a hard day’s work, respect for one another and one’s self and gratitude for all that’s given.

Dolores was a life-long, devoted parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul and All Saints Catholic Churches, serving as a member of the Elderberries group, the Daughters of Isabella and Ladies Society of All Saints.

Dolores is survived by her children, Susan A. (Gary) Davidson, Nancy L. (Richard) Jackson, Tom E. (Jeannie Eaker) Risher and Mary K. (Lisa Spangler) Risher; 5 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Francis, James, and Thomas, all of Logansport.

Public visitation will be on Thursday, January 7, 2020, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home and a public Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 8th, at All Saints with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery directly afterwards.
