Joyce K. Marin

Joyce K. Martin, 69, of Logansport passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.

Born on May 4, 1951 in Monmouth, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late George and Betty (Meehan) Whitehall.

On October 3, 1970 she married the love of her life David L. Martin and he survives.

After graduating from Monmouth High School in 1969, Joyce and Dave spent two years in Germany while Dave served in Armed Forces. Upon returning to the States Joyce and David started a loving family in Monmouth IL.

In 1986 David and Joyce relocated to Logansport IN. Joyce was employed at Kmart for over twenty years between Monmouth and Logansport, from where she retired.  Following retirement she obtained a pharmacy tech certificate, while working for Dexter’s Pharmacy. 

She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and enjoyed crafting, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving wife, grandmother, sister and aunt.

Survivors include her husband, David L. Martin of Logansport, her children, son, Jason (Jennifer) Martin of Zanesville, Indiana and daughter, Kay (Clay) Parker of West Lafayette, Indiana, and son-in-law, Matt Helton, widower of Julie (Martin) Helton, Siblings; Steve (Sara) Whitehall of Mattoon, Illinois; Janet (Bill) Hart of Monmouth, Illinois; and Judy (Dave) French of Ocala, Florida.

Joyce enjoyed spending time with her beautiful and beloved grandchildren; Shelby Parker, Derek Parker, Nolan Martin, and Brock Martin.

Joyce was preceded in death by daughter Julie (Martin) Helton, Brother Ed Whitehall, and Sister Joanie Unger.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Marocco Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. followed by graveside service. 

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Guardian Angel Hospice.
