Rega “Joyce” Black, 83, Logansport, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at home.

Born December 22, 1937, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Loyal Merl and Berna (Fitz) Good.

On February 12, 1958, in Logansport, at the Salvation Army, she married the love of her life, William Allen Black, Sr. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2017.

Before her marriage, Joyce worked for HW Gossard. A homemaker, was both blessed and busy as a stay-at-home mom devoting her time to her husband and their seven children.

Joyce was a member of the Logansport Salvation Army where she was active in the Home League. She enjoyed volunteering and helping with errands for the church. Joyce loved working jigsaw puzzles and word search games.

Surviving her children: William “Bill” (Paige) Black Jr., Logansport, Rita (Michael) Davis, Russiaville, James “Jim” Loyal (Mary) Black, Delphi, Mark Black Sr., Logansport, Tammy (Brad) Manning, Logansport, Bobbie Sue Black, Monticello, and Nick (Dianna) Black, Arizona; one brother, Loyal (Mary Ann) Good Jr., Winamac; two sisters, Marlene (Ed) Kelley, Naples, Florida and Janet Shambarger, Fulton; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Norman, Donald, Larry and Robert Good; and two sisters Pauline Stevenson and Jean Crist.

A Funeral Service celebrating Joyce’s life will be held at noon Saturday, January 16 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Brad Manning officiating.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until noon prior to the service in the funeral chapel. Covid-19 precautions will be in place with face masks and social distancing guidelines.

Memorial contributions, may be made in Joyce’s memory, to the Salvation Army.
