Ruth Ann Waddups

Ruth Ann (Ensfield) Waddups, age 88, Logansport, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, in Chase Center.

Born in Logansport on June 25, 1932, she was the daughter of Cornelius H. and Ruth B. Haas Gilsinger.

On December 16, 1951 in Logansport in the Market Street United Methodist Church, she was married to Robert Ensfield, who passed away on February 17, 1968.  She then married Charles ‘Chuck’ Waddups in Fulton, on May 26, 1972.  He survives.

Ruth worked at the Logansport Public Library until 1990.

She loved her animals, dogs and cats. She volunteered every Saturday for Cause for Paws at the Logansport Mall.  From time to time, she would bring home a cat or a dog.

Ruth was a member of the Delta Chi Sorority. She loved to play Euchre, especially with her card club ladies.  She was a member of the club for over 50 years.

Ruth and Chuck loved to go dancing to the Big Band music every Saturday night. They also belonged to various antique car clubs.

Our family would like to thank Chase Center for the love they showed our mom. You are the best! The special friends that she met: Dorothy, Lucille and Doris, were special to her, along with her best friend, Linda Schlick.

Also surviving are sons, Mike (Nancy) Ensfield, and Mark Ensfield, all of Logansport; granddaughters, Sarah (Corey) Stow and Emma (Jimmy) Smith, all of Walton; and great grandson, Sawyer Stow and great granddaughter, Finley Smith, both also of Walton; brother-in-law, Bill (Marlena) Mayhugh, Fresno, Calif. and extended family members, Martin (Jan) Sokol, Austin, Texas; and Kimberly and Jodi Burke, Springfield, Missouri.

Preceding Ruth in death were her parents and step dad, Jerry Lenon in 1972.
