William “Bill” H. Hipsher Jr.

William “Bill” H. Hipsher Jr., 88, of Logansport, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Woodbridge Health Campus.

Born on May 15, 1932 in Logansport, he is the son to the late William H. Hipsher Sr. and Madge (Parker) Hipsher.  On March 3, 1951, in Logansport, he married Joan Tocco who survives.

Bill retired from the Logansport Police Department in 1979 after 20 years of service to his community. He also owned and operated Hipsher’s Window and Floor Cleaning service for over 40 years. Bill also drove a school bus for the Logansport School Corporation for 30 years.

Bill spent 10 years serving in the Indiana National Guard. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a former Worshipful Master of the Orient Masonic Lodge and member of Rochester Masonic Lodge 79, Scottish Rite, Eastern Star, former President of the Logansport Shrine Club, American Legion Post 60 and a lifelong member of the Logansport Eagles. Bill was a member of River of Life Christian Church.

Surviving along with his wife Joan, is a daughter, Karen Hipsher of Logansport, IN; four sons, Shawn (Dawn Gainey) Hipsher of Logansport, IN, William H. Hipsher III of Peru, IN, Christopher (Debra) Hipsher of Peru, IN, Brian (Teri) Hipsher of Fort Lauderdale, FL; 17 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard W. (Bev) Hipsher of Logansport, IN, James F. (Sandy) Hipsher of Roachdale, IN.

He was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Constance J. (Seybold) Hipsher, a sister, Judy Hoynacki; and two great grandchildren, Mikayla Blanton and Caitlyn Hipsher.

A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Gundrum Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until the time of service.

Burial will take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Memorials may be made to the River of Life Christian Church or the Cass County Humane Society.
