Gregory Mathias Loehmer

Gregory Mathias Loehmer, 53, of Winamac passed peacefully in his sleep at 9:41 p.m., Monday, March 15th, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

Born August 17th, 1967 in Winamac, he was the son of Ronald and Judy (Bair) Loehmer.

Greg was a 1985 Winamac High School graduate where he developed his love of carpentry and building skills.  He was a longtime employee of Plymouth Tube in Winamac where he gained many friends over the years.

He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the UAW Local #1448.

Greg was active in Pulaski County 4-H over the years. He enjoyed raising livestock, working in carpentry, and was always willing to help someone in need. Friends and family enjoyed his sense of humor and his “bad dad” jokes. Anyone who knew Greg felt his love for life and compassion for others.  Greg had an unwavering passion to his Faith and serving the Lord. 

Greg had such a strong love and dedication for his family. He was looking forward to marrying his fiancée, Marilyn, and combining their two families.

Survivors include his children, Kaleigh Loehmer (fiancé, Tyler Shaffer) of Winamac, Kassidy Issa (Michael) of Kokomo and Kole Loehmer (Rick Martinez) of Indianapolis; Marilyn Krohn Newman (fiancée) of Winamac and her children, Meghan Newman (John Swinford) of Indianapolis, Eric Newman (Erika Vannarsdall, fiancée) of West Lafayette; parents, Ronald and Judy Loehmer of Winamac; sister, Kimberly Adamski (Robert) of Winamac; grandchildren, Karter Loehmer and Emori Shaffer both of Winamac; and nieces and nephews, Nic Kasten (Caty) of Winamac, Natalie Reynolds (Carl) of Bluffton and Eric Kasten (Kara) of Winamac.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 19th, 2021 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Winamac with Father Daniel Shine officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18th, 2021 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, Royal Center.

Burial will be at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
