Rick A. Seehase

Roderick “Rick” A. Seehase, 65 of Logansport, passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel.

Born on August 8, 1955 in Logansport, Rick was the son of James R. and Frankie (Parker) Seehase. Rick was a farmer, and instrumental in day to day operation of the family business, Oak Ridge Farms.

Rick was extremely active in livestock and 4-H. He was an active member of the Indiana Beef Cattleman’s Association, on the Hoosier Beef Congress Committee from 1986 – 2020, he served as the Chairman of that Committee from 2012-2020. He has been A Cass County 4-H Fair Association Board Member, Beef Committee Chairman and Committee member.

He was a Cass County Cattlemen’s association member and was actively involved in showing cattle with his nieces and nephews. Rick was a lifetime member of the American Angus Association along with membership in other breeds.

Rick loved following the Colts and Indiana Hoosiers. He made sure to always have the freezer stocked with Swan’s ice cream sandwiches and carmels for the nieces and nephews.
Surviving are two brothers, Jim & Fred Seehase; sister, Cindy (Kevin) Scott; niece, Stephanie (Blake) Mollenkopf; three nephews, Wesley (Grace) Scott; Duane Scott; and Cody (Jennifer) Scott, all of Logansport; great nieces and nephews, Kinzie Mollenkopf; Gavin Mollenkopf, Logan Mollenkopf, Remley Mollenkopf, Keaton Scott, Quinn Scott, Carter Scott, Cora Scott, Colette Scott, Chloe Scott and Jarrett Scott.

A celebration of life is going to be planned for a later date, when people can gather for a party, the way Rick would have wanted.

A private family service will be held at the Gundrum Funeral Home on Monday December 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating and the service will be livestreamed for the public to view.
