Irene F. Shaw

Irene F. Shaw, 91, of Logansport, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021, in Chase Center.

Born April 29, 1929, in Monticello, she was the daughter of the late Oscar F. and Grace (Clark) Cowger

On June 14, 1929, she was married to Robert E. Shaw. He preceded her in death in 2003.

Irene was a homemaker who loved her family dearly.She was also the co-owner of Shaw’s Lake – with years and years of happy memories and friendships made at the lake.
Irene was a long-time member of the Lake Cicott United Methodist Church. She participated in leaugue bowling and enjoyed fishing, and golfing. She loved crocheting and embroidery. Irene was a devoted fan of the Indiana Pacers and the Chicago Cubs.

She is survived by five children, Steven (Barbara) Shaw, Rochester, Debra Fultz, Logansport, Leslie Dishner, Logansport, Melissa (David) Kellems, Reno,Texas, and Robin (Richard) Small, Marianna, Florida; one bother, Wilbur “Bud” (Donna) Cowger, Argos; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren

In addition to her husband and parents, Irene was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald Edward Shaw, six sisters, three brothers; son-in-law, Larry Dishner; and granddaughter, Heather Dixson.

A Funeral Service celebrating Irene’s life will be held at noon, Saturday, April 17, at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Adam Speicher officiating.

Interment will follow in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service in the funeral chapel
