Thomas “Frank” Carney

Thomas “Frank” Carney, 80 of Logansport, passed away unexpectedly and very peacefully Tuesday, April 13, 2021, while enjoying a leisurely drive through the countryside with his wife and sister.

Born May 22, 1940, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Elias E. “Bill” and Vernie May (Angle) Carney.

A 1958 graduate of New Waverly High School, Frank attended LeTourneau College in Longview, Texas.

On June 26, 1965, at the Baptist Temple, he was married to Carol Diann (Young) Carney, who survives.

Frank was retired from the Chrysler Corporation where he had worked for thirty-eight years.

A long-time member of the El-Tip-Wa Tractor Club, Frank loved restoring antique tractors. He was happiest outdoors, working on the farm and in his magnificent garden.

Surviving with his wife of 56-years, Carol Carney, are three children, Crista (John) Cruz, Fishers, Annette (Mike) Hancock, Noblesville, and Jason (Jessica) Carney, Westfield; one sister, Judy Carney, Mexico, Indiana; six grandchildren, Lucy, Madeline, Elizabeth, Ruby, Abigail and Andrew; and his niece, Janet Ashabranner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, JoAnne Bishop.

A Funeral Service celebrating Frank’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 16 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Steve Kingery officiating.

Burial will follow in the Miami Baptist Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 15 in the funeral chapel.
