Logansport Memorial Hospital (LMH )is aware of the recently signed executive order (21-09) from Governor Holcomb, that will adjust the statewide mask mandate to a mask advisory beginning Tuesday, April 6. With respect to Governor Holcomb’s executive order, please be aware that current visitor restrictions and mask policies will remain in place for staff, patients, and visitors at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Current guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that masks should be worn any time you are in a public setting, and any time you are around people who do not live with you. When you wear a mask, you protect others as well as yourself. Masks should completely cover the nose and mouth and fit snugly against the sides of your face without any gaps. At this time, including on April 6 and beyond, all patients, visitors, staff, and physicians are still required to be screened and wear a mask in our facilities, even once vaccinated.Masks should be either surgical or cloth, per the CDC’s definitions –bandanas and face shields will not be acceptable. Visitors are still limited to one or two healthy support persons in most areas across the hospital, as the same person or people for the patient’s entire appointment or stay. Exceptions are outlined on our most current visitor restrictions policy, included with this release. We will continue monitoring COVID-19 in our community and re-evaluate these policies once more at the end of April.

Although LMH is encouraged by steadily declining and consistently low COVID-19 case counts and hospitalizations, along with the availability of vaccines across the state, we have chosen to continue with visitor restrictions and a mask requirement in the interest of safety for our patients, visitors, and staff. We believe that maintaining these policies is in accordance with the evidence-based guidance we have received from the CDC.

Logansport Memorial asks for your continued patience and cooperation with these current policies. Thank you in advance for your help in doing your part, while at Logansport Memorial Hospital or one of our clinic locations, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
