Donald Gene Steele, Jr., 62, Logansport, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at the Community Howard Regional Health Center.
Born September 19, 1958, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Donald Gene Sr. and Marita “Rita” (Denman) Steele.
More than anything else, Don enjoyed spending time with his children and grandkids. He was fascinated with cars and enjoyed just getting behind the wheel and driving. Don loved to travel. Life was an adventure and lived it with passion.
He is survived by three children, Stephanie Lopez, Goshen, Matthew Steele, Elkhart, and Donald L. Steele, Oriental, North Carolina; one brother, Steven W. Steele, Logansport; two sisters, Kathy (Charles) Hartsch, Galveston, and Rita (Kevin) Jacko, Bristol; five beautiful grandchildren, Tyler Templeton, Miguel Lopez, Alexandria Lopez, Blylee Steele, and Chloe Steele; and a longtime friend who was like a brother to him, Danny Lugabihl.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, Thomas Joe Steele and Cindy Sue Steele; and one cousin, Mark Leonard.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, May 24 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. until the time of the service in the funeral chapel.
