Monte W. Ray “Monte Bill”, age 69, Logansport, passed away at 1:35 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born April 14, 1952, in Logansport, Monte was the son of Alan and Mary Louise Wilson Ray. Both have preceded him in death.

On October 2, 2004, Monte married Cynthia Butterfield, who survives, residing in Logansport.

Monte was retired from Matthew-Warren. As a member of New Beginnings Church he was involved in the church’s music program.

Monte’s faith in Jesus was the foundation of his life. He loved spending time with the grandchildren and enjoyed NASCAR and fishing. Monte didn’t know a stranger and loved to laugh. 

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Autumn Ray, Kokomo; sons, Kelly (Kami) Young, Burlington, Matthew (Amanda) Ray, Kokomo; brother, Alan E. “Buddy” (J.D.) Ray, Jr., Branson, MO.; sister, Patricia “Patty” (John) Altman, Logansport (Georgetown), IN; step-son, Jesse Butterfield, Logansport; step-daughter, Sarah Butterfield, Logansport.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Ciara Ray, Kole Young, Kaden Young, Kylie Young; step-grandsons, Jeramiah Justice, Tilar Justice; several nieces and nephews.

An infant brother, Michael Ray, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3rd, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, immediately following visitation.

Burial arrangements are pending.
