Marilyn C. (Albright) Surber

Marilyn Surber, 75, died late July 21, 2021, in St. Vincent Hospital, Carmel.

Born in 1946 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Charles and La Verne Albright.

Marilyn was a member of Flora First Christian Church and graduated from Logansport High School in 1965. While raising her family, Marilyn worked as a florist, sales associate, and receptionist. She later became a Sorority House Mother/Director for over twenty years.   Her first being at Purdue University and currently Indiana University at Alpha Xi Delta.  She was able to be a fill-in “Mom” for hundreds of college girls over those years!

Marilyn enjoyed her opportunities to travel and spend time with valued friends. She was a devoted worker in any position she held, but nothing was more important to her than her family and being a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include one daughter, Teri Ann (Brook) Johnson, New Palestine, IN and son Doug (Lisa) Hicks, Fort Wayne, IN; Along with four grandchildren: Heidi Hicks, Kelsey Hicks, Jack Johnson and Megan Johnson. Also, two step grandchildren Emily (Johnson) Strohm and Logan Johnson; two brothers Terry (Jo) Albright, Logansport; Mike (Linda) Albright, Logansport; and one sister Nancy (David) Swank, Martinsville, IN; several nieces and nephews

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Al LaRue officiating. Burial will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, July 26, 2021 also at Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory.
