Shirley A. (Ross) Horn

Shirley A. (Ross) Horn, 84, Logansport, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side at 3:01 p.m. Monday, July 26, at Woodbridge Health Campus.

Born May 6, 1937, in Peru, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Raymond H. and Reba E. (Foust) Ross. On April 20, 2002, she married Avery “Lee” Horn who preceded her in death on May 27, 2006.

A Peru High School graduate, Shirley worked tirelessly for her family, retiring from Summit Circuits in 2001.

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and friend who dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed. Shirley was a member of the River of Life Christian Church.

She is survived by her children Brenda Sue Lodge (Gene), South Carolina, Bruce W. Bennett (Suzanne) and Brian K. Bennett (Mary), all of Logansport, Jackie Lynn Jones (Chris) Columbus, IN, and Diana K. Smith, Seymour, IN, who she raised as her own; her grandchildren Kian (Jason) Jennings and Derek (Meghan) Roe, Virginia, Zachary (Kristi) Bennett, Wisconsin, Wesley Bennett, Indianapolis, IN, Wilson Bennett, Bloomington, IN, and Ivy Diane Jones, Columbus, IN; great-grandchildren Brayden and Makynlee Jennings and Dylan and Nathan Roe all of Virginia; nephew Craig Reich (Brenda) and brother-in-law Philip Reich, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her only sibling, Joyce Lea Reich.

Pastor Aaron Gross will officiate at the funeral service which will be held at the Ever Rest Memorial Park Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, with visitation a half hour before the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
