Richard A. Dunkin, 71, of Logansport passed away at 11:04 a.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Franciscan Health Hospital in Lafayette.
Born on October 23, 1949 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Gerald and Mary Jane (Kimberling) Dunkin.
On December 24, 1992 he married Clarice “CJ” (Stanton) Tolson. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2012.
He formerly worked at National Friction and Tyson Foods. He and his late wife CJ formerly owned and operated CJ’s Hair Salon and Shoe Repair.
Richard enjoyed playing pool, fishing and being outdoors.
Survivors include son, Rick Dunkin of Logansport, daughter, Michelle Helvie (Edward) of Logansport, step son, David Tolson, step daughter, Lynn Hullett, brother, David Dunkin of Peru, sister, Debra Dunkin of Logansport. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by brother, Lester Paul Dunkin, grandson, Andrew Dunkin and nephew, Dan Dunkin.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Marocco Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
