Gary Richard “Dick” Chambers

Gary Richard ‘Dick’ Chambers, age 82, Logansport, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, in Memorial Hospital.

Born in Logansport, on October 30, 1938, he was the son of Benjamin Franklin and Olive Lucille (Bockover) Chambers.

On June 30, 1962, in Kokomo, he was married to Betty A. Skaggs, who survives.

Dick was baptized in the Christian faith.

He had been a crew leader for the Indiana Department of Transportation, from where he retired.

Dick enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, and attended the events for his children and grandchildren. He liked going to auctions, mushroom hunting, and loved a good Euchre game.

Also surviving are son, Gary M. (Glenda) Chambers, Logansport; daughter, Deborah A. Chambers, Greenwood; brother, George L. (Martha) Chambers, Melbourne, Florida; grandchildren, Dustin (Shonda) Murray, Nic (Britny) Murray, Victoria (Alex) Bernard and Ben (Ryan) Chambers; great grandchildren, Beau Chambers, Theo Murray and Evelyn Chambers; several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The service, officiated by Rev. Tim McKaig and Rev. Doug Thomas, will be on Friday, September 17th, at 2:00 p.m., also at Kroeger Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Cass County.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Roberta L. ‘Bert’ Chambers Scholarship Fund or any favorite charity. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
