James Douglas Hanby II, age 32, of Peru, passed away unexpectedly early in the morning of September 6th, 2021, in Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, IN, surrounded by those who loved him.
Born to James and Ashley Hanby of Peru on March 27th 1989, he later gained a mother Jerri Durr and Father Danny Church. James was a United States Marine Corps Veteran, he was a kind and caring man who always put others first. James was a great artist who also enjoyed his work very much. No challenge was too big for James, he would take on anything just to prove to himself he could do it. Aside from work his greatest passion and happiness came from his daughters who were his whole world. He would go above and beyond just to ensure they were happy and having a good time.
Survivors include two daughters Leila and Athena Hanby of Florida; mother Ashley (Danny) Church of Peru, Mother Jerri Durr of Ohio; Grandfather James C. Hanby of Peru; girlfriend Tamara Spencer of Logansport, brothers Aaron Hanby, Danny Church Jr. and Michael Church of Peru; Chase Hanby of Ohio; Sister Taylor (Leighandra) Hanby of Peru; Uncles Scott Bishop of Lafayette; Fred (Michelle) Bishop of Peru; Ben (Heather) Miner of Ohio; and Gary (April) Colegrove Jr. of Lafayette; Gary (Juanita) Colegrove Sr., Peru: Aunts April (Gina) Hanby of Lexington; Aunt Karen Bishop of Mexico; Lori (Wayne) Clark, NC; Melissa Hay Bishop of Lafeyette; also many loving cousins and friends.
James was preceded in death by his Father, James Douglas Hanby I, his sister Angelica Rose Hanby, and grandmother Dixie Lou Hanby.
There will be a gathering of family and friends held at the Eagles in Peru, IN, 2-7PM on Thursday, September 9th 2021.
