O. June Land

O. June Land, 95, of Logansport passed away at 4:27 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Monticello Health Care.

Born on November 12, 1925 in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of the late Oral and Olive (Yeager) Wilson.  Throughout her childhood, June and her family love to sing and harmonize whether it was in the pulpit at her church or even while doing the dishes.  They learned to play many instruments including the piano, organ and violin.

She was a 1944 Logansport High School graduate and a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Logansport.

On March 7, 1948 she married Harvey T. Land.  He preceded her in death on April 4, 1995.

June was also a longtime volunteer for Logansport Memorial Hospital where she volunteered in the Chaplains Department, also as a Gray Lady.  She was a former member of the Home and Hobby Club and a charter member of the Campers and Hikers Club.

Survivors include her sons, Edward Land (Mary Kay) of Virginia and Rev. James Land (Pam) of Lenora.  She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Swartzell and Jean Wilson.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 27, 2021 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Marocco Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport with Rev. Beth Ann Cook officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Burial will follow at Ever Rest Memorial Park.
