David L. Mather, 71, passed away on September 3, 2021 in Springfield, Virginia.
Born November 26, 1949 in Bloomington, Indiana, he was the son of Glenn and Diamond (Wilson) Mather.
Dave was a 1968 graduate of Bloomington High School South and an HT photographer in the 70’s. Dave graduated with a Journalism degree from Indiana University in 1982. After working as a copy editor for various newspapers in Indiana, he worked at the Gannett Newspaper HQ in Virginia until his retiremen
Dave loved to spend his time volunteering for Virginia Airborne Search and Rescue and the Freedom Museum in Manassas Virginia, Northern Virginia Veterans Association, and the Manassas Regional Airport. When not volunteering, Dave loved Graphics Editing and Photography, with always capturing family and friends.
Dave is survived by his spouse Elizabeth (Ringer); daughters, Michelle Aphrodite and Heather Rothstein; grandchildren, Tyler Rothstein, Jade Carey, Makenna Aphrodite; his mother Diamond Mather; and sister Deborah Mather-Boehm.
A visitation was held in Springfield, Virginia. Burial will be at the Onward Deer Creek Cemetery in Cass County, Indiana.
