Frank E. Van Es

Frank E.Van Es, 88, of Logansport, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Thursday evening, October 14, 2021, at Chase Center.

Born November 27, 1932 Harvey, Illinois, he was the son of the late Jacob and Frances (Fuller) Van Es.

He was married to “Babe” (Badovinac) Van Es, who preceded him in death. He later married Shirley Van Es, and sadly, she also preceded him in death.

Frank was the proud owner of the former “Babe’s Pizza” at 17th and Erie and had formerly owned U-Know’s Pizza when it was located on the west side of town. He had a strong work ethic and enjoyed interacting with his customers. Frank loved to make people happy by providing them with delicious food and friendly service.

Following his retirement, Frank enjoyed traveling, especially going out west to visit his sisters. He loved his family dearly, and was blessed to be able to spend time with his grandchildren and watch them grow.

Surviving are his children, Chuck (Cath) Van Es, Rich (Lisa) Van Es, Tom (Mandy) Van Es, Eli (Lisa) Van Es, and Frances (Shane) Antrim, all of Logansport; one sister, Neltja Rawson; grandchildren, Stormie (Miguel) Rivera, Kyle (Breanna) Van Es and Claire Van Es; great-grandchildren, Alexia, Kaden, Edison, Roman, Allen, and Callan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by grandson, James Antrim, great-grandson, Abram Rivera; brothers, John, Al, Jim, and Adrian Van Es, and sisters, Barb Porpe and Claire Dinges.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20 in Fisher Funeral Chapel. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Burial, at a later date, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation which helps people with Parkinson’s disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure.
