Kenneth Edward Hainje, Jr.

Kenneth Edward Hainje, Jr., 79, of Delphi, IN, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021.

He was born on July 10, 1942 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Kenneth E. Hainje, Sr. and Ila Bernice (Edwards) Hainje.

Ed graduated from Jefferson High School in 1960. He enlisted in July of 1963 to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps until October of 1969.

In February of 1971, he married Pearl Hernandez in Las Vegas, NV and they later divorced.

Ed owned and operated Ed Hainje Custom Drapery before becoming a school bus driver for Victor Valley Union High School District in Victorville, California for 20 years, retiring in 2012.

Ed enjoyed going to car shows and repairing old cars.

Surviving are his children, Carolyn Hainje of Riverside, CA, Terri Hainje (William Brantley), of Winston-Salem, NC, Brian Hainje (Laura LaBonte), of Riverside, CA, and Marilee Claus (Stephan), of Greenville, NC; siblings, Marion Wayne Hainje of Littleton, CO, Pamela Moore of Colorado, Roger Loughry of Las Vegas, NV, and David Loughry of Las Vegas, NV; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren,

He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Duane Hainje.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 21 at Rest Haven Memorial Park with Military Honors.

Memorial donations may be made United States Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” program in loving memory of Ed.
