Naoma Alice (Zellers) Seidel

Naoma Alice (Zellers) Seidel, 97, was born to Arthur and Julia (Metzger) Zellers on October 25, 1923 on a farm near Kewanna, Indiana.

She passed away on October 16, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She graduated from Kewanna High School in 1941 and worked at Kingsbury Ordnance Plant (manufacturing ammunition and bombs for the war effort) for two and half years during WWII.  

She married Elmer Seidel on May 25, 1944.

She enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her large family.  She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, delivered Meals-On-Wheels, was a Grey Lady volunteer at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester, and was involved in volunteer work most of her life.

She is survived by her children, Susan Graffis (Richard) of Indianapolis and John Seidel (Betty) of Woodbury, Minnesota, five grandchildren, Christine (Graffis) Long (Dan), Alison (Graffis) Therber (Mike), Craig Graffis, Amy Seidel (Mike Coddington) and Kari Seidel Aase, her eleven great grandchildren, Natalie and Megan Long, Michael and Sam Therber, Hannah, Nella and Henry Graffis, Ethan and Chase Coddington and Joey and Gavin Aase, siblings, Marilyn Williams, Wayne Zellers (Doris), Herb Zellers (Becky) and brother in law, Wally Bahler.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one great grandson, Christopher Therber and siblings, Marjorie Martin, Virginia Cook, Virgil Zellers, and Nedra Bahler.

A Memorial gathering will be held at a future date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Metzger Chapel, 123 E. Main St., Kewanna.
