Betty Jean DeWitt, lovingly known as “Grandma B”, age 87, Logansport, passed away peacefully at 4:33 a.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born in Cass County on June 13, 1934, she was the daughter of John William Osa and Mary Yanda Gearhart.

A graduate of Metea High School, Betty had been employed at RBM Manufacturing. She was active during her entire life, until the end, and enjoyed playing Bingo, poker, trying her luck at the casinos, Indiana University basketball and the Chicago Cubs. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 3790.

Grandma B was an avid bowler and made sure her family was introduced to the game. More than anything, she loved being around family.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Mathew, Logansport; sons, Jerry (Tina) Spencer, Logansport, Jeff (Julie) Spencer, Nyona Lake; grandchildren, Garvin Spencer, Jerron Spencer, Wendi (Mike) Fincher, T. J. Spencer, Seger Matthew Terranova, Jesse Spencer, Kyler Spencer. Patrick Mathew; twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.

Preceding in death are three brothers, Les Gearhart, Clyde Gearhart, George Gearhart; sister, Mary Jane Gearhart; granddaughter, Dusti Young; grandson, Jeremy Spencer; great great granddaughter, Novalynn Kreighbaum.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 26th, at Kroeger Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, with personal tributes by family and friends and favorite songs as selected.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, at a later date.
