Chris A. Cover, 59, of Logansport, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021, in his residence.

Born on February 24, 1962, in Logansport, Chris is the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Tavolacci) Cover.

Chris was a 1980 graduate of Logansport High School. He began his career working for Logansport Memorial Hospital as an EMT on the ambulance service and later accomplished his lifelong dream and joined the Logansport Fire Department in 1988. Over the 28 and a half years, Chris served many positions within the department. He also served as Assistant Director for Cass County Emergency Management Services for several years and later served as the Fire Chief for Cass County Fire District 1 before retiring in 2021.

Chris was very proud of his collection of firefighting memorabilia, especially his two antique firetrucks which were part of many Cass County parades throughout the years.

Surviving are two sons, Kyle (Brianna) Cover of Kokomo; Cameron Cover of Fishers; daughter, Kaity (Carter Ulrich) Cover of Carmel; grandson, Oliver Cover; sister, Sandra (Charles) Wise of Monticello; four nephews and a niece.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David J. Cover.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday November 19, at Gundrum Funeral Home and Crematory.

At 6:00 p.m., family and friends will be invited to share memories and stories about Chris and his life.

Memorials may be made to the Logansport Fire Department “Burnout Fund”.
