Last Updated on November 21, 2021 by Fisher Funeral Chapel

Jane Nelson, 65, of Logansport, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born December 4, 1955, in Warsaw, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Barbara (Townsend) Nelson.

Jane was a 1976 graduate of Logansport High School.

She was retired from Peak Community Services.

A devoted member of LifeGate Church, Jane enjoyed studying the Bible and looked forward to the Weekday Religious Education’s weekly visits to Woodlawn in the big red bus.

Jane was a “people person” with a smile that could light up a room and a laugh that was contagious. She was also putting others first above herself. Jane had a kind heart and never knew a stranger.

She enjoyed bowling with Special Olympics of Cass County. She loved animals – especially Clydesdale horses and wolves. Jane enjoyed a good challenge and completed many 1000-pieces jigsaw puzzles in addition to countless crosswords and word search puzzles. She was a die-hard Cubs fan who collected baseball cards and anything related to Sammy Sosa.

Family meant everything to Jane. She is survived by her lifelong partner of 43 years, Gilbert Clark, of Logansport; one brother, James (Tona) Nelson, Nashville, Indiana; one sister, Julie (Mike) Swisher, Logansport; her nieces and nephews, whom she adored, Wendy (Broc) Rennewanz, Danielle (Kyle) Mathias, Kendra Nelson, and Cody (Aleshia) Nelson; her precious great-nieces, Halle and Reese Rennewanz, Gracee Baer, Ryan Mathias and Baby Mathias “on-the-way”; and her special friend, Sally Bullick.

A Funeral Service celebrating Jane’s life will be held at noon on Wednesday, November 24 in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Pastor Andy Weil will officiate.

Interment will follow at the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics of Cass County.
