Richard “Lee” Murray

Richard “Lee” Murray, age 93, of Logansport, passed away Thursday November 25, 2021 at Franciscan Health East in Lafayette.

Born October 24, 1928, in Rochester, IN to the late Frank B. and Mary (Burgman) Murray. On November 26, 1953 in Niles, OH he married Ann Marie Madish who preceded in death on Feb. 11, 2006.

Lee retired from the Conrail Railroad as a brake conductor. He was a 1948 graduate of Logansport High School. He was a member of Elks Lodge #66, the American Legion Post #60, and 40 & 8. Lee was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Joy) Murray, Logansport; Patrick (Carolyn) Murray, Logansport; sister, Joann J. Sterrett, Logansport; sister-in-law Alice Murray, Logansport; 7-grandchildren, Bridgett (Shane) Milburn, Jess (Ashley) Murray, Candace Rhodes, Garrett (Megan) Murray, Brice Murray, Jerry Arnold and Barry (Tricia) Arnold; 12-great grandchildren, Braeden Milburn, Chandler Milburn, Mayla Williams, Daniel Milburn, Ava Williams, Sarah Milburn, Jude Williams, Drake Milburn, Isabella Rhodes, Caden Conn, Kalli Conn and Jared Arnold; several nieces and nephews.

Lee was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Murray, three sisters, Jackie McCarter, Jeanette Harding and Betty Rogers.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 pm Friday Dec. 3, 2021 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Snyder officiating. Burial, with full military rites by the Cass County Honor Guard, will be held at Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service on Friday Dec. 3, 2021 in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions my be made to the Cass County Honor Guard.
