Stella I. Pearson

Stella I. Pearson, 94, Logansport, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born February 17, 1927, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Albert and Catherine Evilsizer Conrad.

On July 24, 1944, in Logansport, she was married to Clarence E. Pearson, who preceded her in death on June 7, 1994.

Stella retired in 1986 after twenty-five years of employment with the Joseph Herd Insurance Agency. She worked in “political jobs” from 1941 until 1961.

Among her many interests and enjoyments, she was an avid  Chicago Cubs fan, loved to have her hair and nails done, create new desserts to share with family and friends, bingo, bowling, cards and games. Stella enjoyed fishing, even though she couldn’t bait a hook, wouldn’t take the fish off the hook and didn’t eat fish! A lover of Christmas, in September she was already asking what the family was planning for Christmas – and looking forward to the gifts.

A life-long Logansport resident, Stella was a sixty-year member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, where she had been past president. She was also a member of All Saints Catholic Church, the former St. Vincent de Paul and St. Joseph parishes.

More than anything, she loved her family dearly.

Surviving are her children, Glenn (Brena) Pearson, Connie (Ron) Brown, Marilou (Larry, Sr.,) Zeck; brother, James Conrad; half-sister, Barbara (Paul) Hipsher; daughter-in-law, Linda Pearson.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Tyler Pearson, Jason & Kelley Pearson, Travis & Kim Pearson, Denise & Pat Quillen, Dana & Blanca Wildrick, Scott & Beth Wildrick, Larry Zeck, Jr., Bridget Eberhardt, Steven & Jessica Pearson, Jennifer & Mark Strege, Sonja & Rick Ward, Bryan & Melissa Gleitz and Amy & Bret Roland; forty-one great grandchildren, thirty-two great-great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to being preceded by her husband, Stella was preceded in death by a son, Steve Pearson, and a granddaughter, Lindsey Pearson.

The Funeral Service and Celebration of Stella’s Life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021, at Kroeger Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Smith will officiate.

Interment will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, also at the funeral home.
