Garry E. Hollis

Garry E. Hollis, age 71, Logansport, passed away on Saturday evening, December 11, 2021, in his residence.

Born in Logansport, on November 5, 1950, he was the son of Franklin L. and Tavie Marie (Clemons) Hollis.

On December 19, 1970, in the Yorktown Road Church of Christ, he was married to Brenda K. Jones, who survives.

Garry had been the plant manager at Controls, Inc., before retiring from Logansport State Hospital.

A member of Yorktown Road Church of Christ, he so enjoyed taking his brother-in-law, Lester, to the Golden Agers and help serving lunch.

Garry was a wonderful acrylic and watercolor artist.  An avid fisherman, he particularly enjoyed fly fishing and was truly proud of tying his own flies.  He had a long history of woodworking.  He was also an excellent cook. Above all, he loved being with family and taking care of his grandchildren when they were young.

Also surviving are daughters, Tiffany Dickey, Lafayette and Erin (fiancé, Phil Walker) DeWitt, Logansport; brothers, Teddy (Lenore) Hollis, Texas and Ron (Mary) Hollis, Tennessee; sister, Karen (Joey) Wolfe, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Connie Hollis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Khaila Dickey, Miya DeWitt, Grant DeWitt, Grant Walker and Aaron Walker; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Garry in death were brother, Dan Hollis; and sister, Mary Beth Hollis.

The visitation will be on Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at Yorktown Road Church of Christ, with the memorial service following at 4:00 p.m.  Mark Racop will officiate.
