Harold L. “Porky” Appleton

Harold L. “Porky” Appleton, age 83, of Logansport, passed away Sunday December 5, 2021, at McKinney Place.

Born September 6, 1938, in Logansport to the late Jay & Opal (Gray) Appleton. On June 26, 1960, in Clymers, IN he married Marcia Anne Lacey who preceded in death September 2, 2018.

Harold retired from the Logansport Livestock Yards, where he had worked his entire life. Harold was a people person and had never met a stranger. He enjoyed kidding with people and dished it out as well as he received it.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Flora, Delphi, IN; Kris Cover, Logansport; five grandchildren, Thad Nelson, Brittany (Pablo) Agulair, Kyle (Brianna) Cover, Cameron Cover and Kaitlyn (Carter Ulrich) Cover; great grandchildren, Oliver Cover and Lilia Agulair, several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his extended family at Bob Evans in Logansport.

Harold was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Joe, Tom and Charles Appleton: two sisters, Kathleen Michael and Jane Slusser.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 11, 2021, in the Gundrum Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the St. John’s cemetery near Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
