Nancy Jo Ashba

Nancy Jo Ashba, 70, of Logansport, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, Dec. 15, 2021, at her home.

Born June 22, 1951, in Monrovia, California, she was the daughter of late Robert and Emily (Palladino) Worroll.

Nancy was a graduate of Skyline High School. She earned her paralegal degree from Indiana University-Kokomo.

Nancy was also a certified QMA. She retired from the Logansport State Hospital after 20 years of service.

Nancy was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Her personality was full of fun, and she enjoyed being around people. Nancy was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed the activities and camaraderie with her friends at the Senior Center. Nancy was also an avid bingo player.

The Bible says that grandchildren are the crown of old age, and while Nancy wasn’t very old when she became a grandma, she wore that crown like a queen. She loved attending her grandchildren’s events — always shouting their full names when they were up to bat.

Surviving are her companion, Joe Remaly, Burrows; four children, Rob McMinn, Scott (Mandi) McMinn and Jill McMinn, all of Logansport, Angie (Rod) Zeck, Galveston; three sisters, Amy Brewer, of Arizona, Carol von Hagen, Oregon, and Kathy (Dennis) Fletcher, California; her beloved grandchildren, Taylor (Caitlyn) Humphrey, Jaret Humphrey, Joey Humphrey, Garrett (Anna) Kurowsky, Jaiden McMinn, Abrielle McMinn, Savannah McMinn, James McMinn, Tyler (Calista) Gaumer, Brenton Gaumer, Kristi (Phil) Gurule, Colton (Laura) Zeck, Kensi (Travis) Yoakum, Kassi (Austin) Clem, Conner Zeck, Caden Zeck; and great-grandchildren, Karrington Lund, Lakelyn Lund, Gentry Gurule, Leonny Zeck, Emmett Zeck, Cohen Zeck-Wright and Crew Yoakum, with three more on the way, including Luka Gaumer.

A funeral service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Cross~Wind United Methodist Church, with Pastor Tim Powers officiating.

Burial will follow in the Center U.B. Cemetery, Young America.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
