Ronald Jay Adair, 70, and Janalyn Sue (Nelson) Adair, 62, of Logansport, left the pain and suffering of this life to be reunited together in Heaven on Thursday, December 23, 2021. The couple fought the good fight and lived every possible moment together. During the past two weeks, both Ron and Jan were apart in separate hospitals – fighting to be reunited once again. Ron passed away at the Richard L. Roudebush Indianapolis VA Medical Center in Indianapolis early in the afternoon and six hours later, Jan passed away at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru.
Born February 23, 1951, in Logansport, Ron was the son of the late William Jay “Bill” and Delores Jane (Burns) Adair.
Jan was born October 20, 1959, in Logansport, to the late James D. and Jeanne Marilyn (Wakley) Nelson.
Ron was a 1969 graduate of Logansport High School. Jan was a 1978 graduate of Twin Lakes High School. In 2004, Jan graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of General Studies degree.
On August 26,1983, in the Riverview Wesleyan Church in Logansport, Ron and Jan were united in marriage. They shared over 38 years of beautiful memories together.
A veteran of the United States Army, Ron served with C Company, 1st Battalion, 63rd Armor, 1st Infantry Division from 1969-1971 during the Vietnam War.
Ron and Jan were both licensed real estate agents for many years. They owned and operated Adair Reality. Jan had worked as the Director of Residential Services with Peak Community Services and had also been employed as a substitute teacher with the Logansport Community School Corporation.
Ron and Jan lived a life of faith to their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ron was born again on February 10, 1983. Ron and Jan were both baptized May 20, 1986. They had been members of the First Assembly of God since 1987 where Jan played the piano with their son for many years. When you are born again, you are baptized in the Holy Spirit and have not yet received the fire of the Holy Spirit, this is called the filling of the Holy Spirit, which Jan had experienced early in life and Ron experienced in June of 1986. They were dedicated members of the Abundant Life Church since 2019.
Both motorcycle enthusiasts, Ron and Jan loved the outdoors. Whether it was chasing the wind, camping or boating, Ron and Jan were in their element enjoying the beauty of nature. Ron also enjoyed shooting sports. Jan enjoyed playing the piano with her son. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa sorority. Creating memories with their family was their passion – especially when it came to their grandchildren – they loved their family beyond measure.
Surviving are their son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Amanda Adair and their children, Zoey and Blaine; Ron’s daughter and son-in-law, Tia and Eric Hurley and their daughter Maggie; Ron’s siblings, James Adair, Richard Adair, and Cyndi (Jim) Mackey; Jan’s sister-in-law, Jane Nelson, Burnettsville; and several nieces, nephews extended family members including their church family as well as many beloved friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Adair, sisters, Sharon Adair-Smith and Teresa Knight; paternal grandparents, Cecil and Theresa Adair; and maternal grandparents, Arthur and Rosa Burns.
Jan was preceded in death by her brothers, John Alan Nelson and Stephen D. Nelson.

A Funeral Service celebrating Ron and Jan’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 4 at Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery, near Burnettsville. Full military honors will be accorded to Ron under the auspices of the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the Cass County Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, January 3 in the funeral chapel.
