Why did you decide to run for this office?
I have been honored to serve first as chief deputy and then as prosecutor for Cass County. I decided to run for another term because there remains much to accomplish to improve public safety and protect Cass County from criminals.
What would you like voters to know about you?
I am a husband and father of four young children. I am a Christian and a lifelong conservative. I believe deeply in law and order, personal responsibility and consequences for criminals- especially those who harm children and other innocents. I am strongly against any agenda that blames the victim over criminals or points to any solution over personal accountability as the best solution for recidivism. I have been a prosecutor for over twenty years and I have tried hundreds of cases, including trying more than two dozen murderers to a jury verdict. I am the best qualified person to continue lead law enforcement to protect this county which I love. I am honored and humbled to be given the opportunity, and pledge to serve all citizens of Cass County to the best of my ability.
What are the most important issues related to the office you are seeking?
Strong leadership for law enforcement, aggressive prosecution of violent criminals and repeat offenders, cooperation with other county agencies to build a culture of personal responsibility and respect for the rule of law.
What are your top priorities for action if elected?
Training law enforcement, identifying and targeting repeat and violent offenders for stern consequences, helping people caught in negative patterns of behavior to reform, technological improvements of office to improve efficiency, training and retention of staff.
What’s your vision for the community and what role does the office you are seeking play in achieving it?
I want safe streets, safe schools, safe churches and safe homes for Cass County. I want Cass County to be a county career criminals relocate away from. I want to give people caught in self-destructive cycles a second chance and tools to overcome addictions. I want people who are verging on a life of criminality to be given strong incentives to reform and become productive citizens.
