Brayden Michael Elkins, 19, Logansport, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, into the caring hands of a just and honorable God.

Born June 8, 2002, in Logansport, he was the son of Heidi (Reutebuch) Elkins, Logansport, and Jamin Elkins, Florida.

Brayden was a 2020 graduate of Logansport High School. He grew up in the faith and was part of the family at The Cross at the Crossroads.

A cherished son, brother and grandson, Brayden was a fun-loving uncle to his niece and nephews. His dog, King, was his best buddy. Brayden had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing and rapping. His artistic skill was evident in his ability to give awesome haircuts and he also loved to draw. Brayden enjoyed playing video games.

Brayden gave the ultimate gift of life by deciding to be an organ donor. In Romans 8:28, these words resonate, “For God works all things together for good to those who love him and are called according to his purpose.” As tragic as his unexpected death is to his family and friends, their prayer is that several people will benefit from Brayden’s precious gift.

Surviving with his parents are his brothers, Isaiah, Benjamin, Tyler and Zachary Elkins, and Austin Flores; his maternal grandparents, Larry and Pam Reutebuch; his paternal grandparents, Gregory and Kathy Elkins; his niece and nephews, Isabella Hall, and Bennett and Palmer Elkins; uncles, Bobby (Melody) Reutebuch, Michael (Luz) Elkins, Nathan (Rachel) Elkins; and aunts, Jenny (Matt) Lewellen, Hannah (Josh) Hood, Rachel (Brent) White, and Emily (Matthew) Metz; multiple cousins; and his girlfriend, Bobbie Rhodes.

A Funeral Service celebrating Brayden’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 27, in the Cross at the Crossroads Church, 1700 East Main St., Logansport, with his grandfather, the Bishop Dr. Gregory Elkins officiating. Members of the Indiana Donor Network Honor Guard will conduct a donor recognition service at the start of Brayden’s funeral.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 26 in the church and also one hour prior to the service.
