Harry “Sonny” Small

Harry “Sonny” Small, 87, of Royal Center passed away at 6:22 a.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft.  Wayne.

Born on June 7, 1934 in Royal Center, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Eileen (Mortor) Small.

He was a 1953 Royal Center High School graduate.

On September 20, 1953 he married Agnes Smith, she survives.

Sonny retired from Exide in Logansport and also worked for over 20 years at Pond View Golf Course mowing greens and fairways.

He was an avid golfer who had several hole in ones through the years.  Sonny was a former member of the Jaycees and he enjoyed taking care of his garden, watching Pioneer High School football and basketball games and taking trips to the casinos.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Small of Royal Center, children, Charlie “Jeff” Small (Brenda) of Logansport, Pam Small of Camden, Randy Small (Lisa) of Royal Center and Teresa Vermaas (David) of Logansport and sister, Charleen Bigford of Tennessee.  He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren plus twin boys on the way.

He was also preceded in death by sister, Mary Ann Berkshire and two great grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2022 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, Royal Center.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.
