Judith Ann “Judy” Thompson, 79, Logansport, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in Chase Center.

Born June 9, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late James Arnold Sr. and Stephanie (Vichek) Swanson.

On January 7, 1959, she was married to Jessie Willard Thompson, who preceded her in death.

During the 1970’s, Judy was employed at Tay-Mor industries. She later worked in housekeeping at the Logansport State Hospital where she retired after ten years of service.

Judy was a member of the Miami Baptist Church. She was also an auxiliary member of the Veterans of Foreign War. Judy was a beautiful and caring woman who always wanted to help her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts and reading. Judy’s beloved dog and constant companion was Dominque.

Surviving are three sons, Jessie Thompson (Kathy Grant), Montrose, Iowa, Jimmy Thompson, Monticello, and Jody Thompson, Royal Center; daughter, Julie (Gilbert) Truax, Logansport; grandchildren, Jessica (Shelton) Pickens, Cody (Hannah) Truax, Dustin Ryker, Tamra Thompson, Derik Thompson, Wynona (Joseph) Hayden, Jeremiah Thompson, Brit Barnett and Daje Thompson; and great-grandchildren, Case Thompson, Beau Thompson, Gabriel Thompson, Carter Hayden, Jackson, Sawyer and Miles Pickens, and Logan Truax; sisters-in-law, Patricia Swanson, Walton, and Sherill Swanson, Marion

Her extended family includes Chase Center staff members, Laura Whittman, Alex Tribbett, Jessica Kistler Julie Minthorn and Tonya Bingle and former employee Chelsey Anderson as well as many other staff members who made her last days comfortable.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Swanson and James Swanson, Jr., one sister, Louise Lidy; and one great-grandson, Bryar Thompson.

A Funeral Service celebrating Judy’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

Visitation hours will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
