Bradley Nelson “Brad” Edwards, Sr.

Last Updated on February 23, 2022 by Fisher Funeral Chapel

Bradley Nelson “Brad” Edwards, Sr., 49, Logansport, went home to be with his Lord Saturday, February 19, 2022, in his home after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born August 16, 1972, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Harold and Frances Lucille (Winters) Edwards.

On February 10, 2005, in Kokomo, he married the love of his life, Samarea L. “Nurse Sam” (Talbert) Edwards, who survives.

Brad attended Lewis Cass High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

A set-up operator at Federal Mogul, now Carter Fuel, Brad had to leave his job when he was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer in July of 2017. Following that diagnosis, Brad endured several rounds of chemo and radiation – fighting with a strong will to live and faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He knew that if it was not God’s will for him to be healed on this Earth, that there would be a celebration of his life here after being fully restored in Heaven.

Brad and Sam had attended Bible College together to study and grow as Christians. He was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Kokomo. Brad also cherished the church family they had here in Logansport at LifeGate and the Church of the Heartland.

His favorite past time was fishing – Brad enjoyed the beauty of nature and the thrill of reeling in the elusive catch. An avid football fan, he enjoyed following exceptional players – no matter what team they were on – but the Indianapolis Colts, was always his favorite team. Brad was an amazing husband and father. He loved and cared for his family unconditionally. Brad was wise, always having the right words to say in every situation. He would do anything to help anyone.

Surviving with his wife “Nurse Sam” are five children: Mark White (Breona Wills), Taylor Moore, Emilie Christina Edwards (Dylan Harvey), Myley Edwards, and Bradley “Mr.” Edwards, Jr.; three grandchildren, Harlow White, Aiden Harvey and Jordan Wills; his step-father, Robert James (Kim) Green; two brothers, Randy Edwards and Robert James (Shirlinda) Green, Jr.; two sisters, LuAnn Edwards and Michelle (Latherian) Campbell; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, L.Tonda Talbert and Ronald Abney; brother-in-law, Dwayne Keith (Guanea) Talbert, Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his birth mother, Vickie Sue Green, and his brother, Alan Edwards.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 24 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23 and one hour prior to the service in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brad’s Fund the Funeral account in care of Fisher Funeral Chapel.
