Cody Douglas Smith

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Cody Douglas Smith. He was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by many. Cody Douglas Smith (29), of Logansport, has suddenly passed away on February 18th in Peru, Indiana.

Cody was born on June 9th in 1992 to Christine Wicker and Douglas Smith in Wabash, Indiana. He spent his younger years growing up in Sweetser, Indiana with his mother and step-father Rick Ferguson, where he enjoyed playing video games with his siblings and adventuring outdoors. He then moved to Westlake, Ohio to attend Parkside Intermediate School. After leaving Ohio, Cody attended high school at Southwood Highschool in Wabash.

        He and his family then moved to Logansport, Indiana where he had his first son Chance Smith with Desiree Banta. Afterwards Cody went on to have two more sons Caiden Smith and Chris Htoo, also born in Logansport, Indiana to Lah Htoo.

        He worked extremely hard and was a dedicated father. Anime and videogames like Ark Survival Evolved were something he loved a lot. He spent a lot of time playing games with his son Chance or exploring when he wasn’t working to provide for his family.

Cody was preceded in death by Ilene Tabler, John Lloyd, and Larry Smith on his father’s side. He is survived by his sons Chance Smith, Caiden Smith, and Chris Htoo; his mother Christine Wicker, his father Douglas Smith, his brother Chase Smith, and his sisters Courtney Parker, Kendall Ferguson, and Kamryn Ferguson.
