James R. “Jim” Grandstaff

James R. “Jim” Grandstaff, 77, Weslaco, Texas, formerly of Logansport, passed away Thursday, February 17. 2022, at the Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas.

Born November 29, 1944, in Logansport, he was the son of Charles A. and E. Jeanne. (Oram) Grandstaff.

A 1962 graduate of Royal Center High School, Jim was retired from Logansport Matsumoto where he had worked as a purchasing agent.

On March 29. 1996, he was married to Michelle S. “Shelley” (Meek) Grandstaff, who survives.
A current member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Weslaco, TX. Jim was a member of the former Clymers U.M. Church. He and his wife loved their Yorkies, Tasha and Dani. They enjoyed traveling and following Jim’s retirement in 2000, they moved to warmer weather in the Donna, Texas area where they quickly made many new friends.

Surviving with his wife, Shelley, are his mother Jeanne Grandstaff, children Sandra Arney (Jim), Brian Grandstaff, Jennifer Quinn Calloway (Louis), Marlene “Dawn” Slusser, Amy Bourdon (Jeff) and Josh Cunningham (Renee). Ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four brothers, Charles “Marvin” Grandstaff, William Grandstaff, Kenneth Grandstaff and Michael Grandstaff; one sister, Carole Dibble.

His father preceded him in death.

A Memorial Service, with burial in Pisgah Cemetery, will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a gift to Gideons International for the purchase of Bibles to be given in Jim’s memory.
