LaVon R. Hasman

LaVon R. Hasman, (88), of Kewanna, IN, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022, in Kingsland Georgia with his family by his side.

Born on October 1, 1933 in Kewanna, In, LaVon is the son to the late Charles and Dorthy Hasman. On June 5, 1960 in Kewanna, IN, he married Wilma R. Woolever who preceded him in death on March 12, 2011.

After graduation LaVon proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired as Union Electrician. His interests included family first and foremost, he also enjoyed fishing, gardening, yard work, woodworking, traveling to Colorado, and tinkering with anything he could tear apart and reassemble to look like new. LaVon enjoyed spending the winters in Kingsland Florida, and Summers in Kewanna, Indiana with his special friend Dorthy Frasa.

Surviving LaVon is a daughter, Pamela Shaver of Kingsland, GA, son, Tony (Tana) Hasman of Howard City, MI; four grandchildren, Briena Shaver, Kayla Shaver, Ryan Shaver and Matthew Hasman; five great grandchildren, Madalynn Wood, Alexis Street Gavin Shaver, Raigen Sanders, and Liam Sanders; nephew, Cortney Heiden, and niece, Kathy Carpenter. He was also “Pop Hasman” to many others.
LaVon was preceded in death by sister Donna Heiden, and twin brother LaVern Hasman

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Dean Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Walton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Following Saturday’s services, the family would love for you to join us in continuing LaVon’s Celebration of Life with his favorite, a Pig Roast. Directions will be provided at the service.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
