Jerry LaPeer, 64, Logansport, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning, March 20, 2022.

Born April 24, 1958, in Monterey, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Frankie Lou Allen LaPeer, Sr. and Gloria Margaretta (Robbins) LaPeer Smith.

He was married to Sherry (Ritchie) Frank LaPeer, who survives.

Jerry was a retired heavy equipment operator.

Fishing was Jerry’s passion and he lived to fish. With his home along the Wabash River, he enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to fish. He always had a large vegetable garden and enjoyed growing all types of flowers. Jerry’s best buddy was his little dachshund, Earl, who was always by his side.

Surviving with his wife are his sons, Dylan Lines LaPeer, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Jeremy (Tonya) Thomas, Decatur, Indiana; step-children, Christopher Michael Frank and Tammy (Eric) Geisler; grandchildren, Carissa Thomas, Dawn Thomas, Blake Thomas, Alyssa Brumm, Elaine Frank, Tyler Geisler, Briar Geisler and Cali Geisler; siblings, Glenda Lou (Galen) Heyerly, Mary Emma Lines, John Allen (Judy) LaPeer, Gloria Alice (Joe) Grady, Margaret Ann LaPeer, and Frankie Lou Allen “Jack” Jr.; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Hattie Ritchie. Jerry was looking forward to meeting his first great-grandchild who is on-the-way.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at The Avenue, 547 Erie Avenue, Logansport.
