Nellie Mae Scott

Nellie Mae Scott, age 91, Logansport, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16th, 2022, at WoodBridge Health Campus.

Born April 19, 1930, in Cass County, she was the daughter of Harold and Maetina Pierce Risser.

She was married to Bud J. Scott, who preceded her in death in 1988.

Nellie Mae retired at the age of 82 as office manager at the Cass County Animal Hospital, a job she started in 1972.

A member of Burnettsville First Baptist Church, Nellie Mae was a member of the Women’s Missionary Society and many other groups at the church. She was also a member of the Royal Center Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Widows to Widows, and the Business and Professional Women’s organization.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Trina and Ken Smith, Logansport, Paul Scott, Royal Center, John and Sharon Scott, Plymouth, Melanie “Sue” and John Rensberger, Rochester, Clay and Karen Scott, Monticello; brother-in-law, Tom Scott, Naples, Florida and sister-in-law, Thelma Webster, Logansport.

Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death were two brothers, Tyrus Risser and Jay Risser, daughter-in-law, Joyce Scott, and an infant sister, Thelma Louise Risser.

Visitation will be Monday, March 21st, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The funeral is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, with Pastor Jerry Long of the First Baptist Church of Burnettsville officiating.

Service will be live-streamed at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) Monday, March 21st, at http://kroegerfuneralhome.com/livestream .

Interment will be private at Davis Cemetery, Cass County.
