Barbara Ann Stilwell, 80, of Logansport, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the Franciscan Health Center – East, in Lafayette.

Born August 26, 1941, in Cass County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Clarence O. and Doris E. (Porter) Ross.

On September 20, 1959, in the parsonage of the Clymers United Methodist Church, Rev. Webb officiated at the wedding of Barbara and Jerry Stilwell.

Barb was a 1959 graduate of Royal Center High School. She worked as a teacher’s aide at Lincoln Middle School for 10 years before retiring.

She was a member of the Lake Cicott United Methodist Church. Barb enjoyed the friendships formed as a longtime member of the Cass County Extension Homemakers. If you received a greeting in the mail from Barb, it was more than just a card…it was handmade work of art made with much love. She cherished her family and friends and made time to let them know they were loved. She was an excellent cook and loved treating family and friends to freshly baked cookies. Barbara was also a faithful volunteer at the Memorial Hospital gift shop as a member of the Mary Dykeman Guild. When she and Jerry were younger and raising their family, they enjoyed taking their children on fishing and arrowhead hunting excursions.

Surviving with her husband of nearly 63 years are four children: Jeffrey Stilwell (Sean), Lori (Mark) Santangelo, Heather (John) Scott, and Rachel (Jason) Stephens; one sister, Diane (Richard “Dick”) Robison; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Ross; and six grandchildren: Kari Santangelo, Wes and Luke Stephens, Calryan and Cheyenne Parmeter, and Miley Scott.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Ross: and one sister, Rosalind Ross.

A Funeral Service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 29, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Adam Speicher officiating.

Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Dykeman Guild.
