Calvin Lee Myers

Calvin Lee Myers, 84, of Galveston, went home to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, April 6, 2022, at his home.  He was born April 6, 1938, in Logansport to Harold and Frances (Thomas) Myers.  He married Joyce Lee Baber on June 8, 1958, at the First Baptist Church in Galveston and she survives.

Calvin retired from Kokomo Chrysler Transmission Plant.  He was a member of the Galveston First Baptist Church for 65 years.  He served as Deacon, Trustee, sang in the church choir and served on the building committee.  He was a 10 year 4-H member and a lifetime farmer.  He served 2 ½ years in the Army Reserves. He enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities.  He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events.

Surviving family include his wife and daughter, Julie (Jeff) Berlet and son, James (Valerie) Myers, grandchildren include, Matt Nicholas, Mallory (Nate) McClurg, Jennifer (Cody) Scott; Kristi (Andrew) Bergin, Bradley (fiancée Elizabeth) Berlet and James Michael Myers and three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Jarrett and Parker; and one brother, Douglas (Pam) Myers of Sebring, FL.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Karen Lynn Myers and grandson Samuel Jeffrey Berlet.

A celebration of Calvin’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2022, at Galveston First Baptist Church, 207 S. Sycamore St. Galveston, IN. 46932 with Pastor Sean Cooper officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Galveston First Baptist Church.  Burial will follow services at the Galveston Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Galveston First Baptist Church in Calvin’s memory.  Murray Weaver Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
